Drone Frame
The drone frame is the first thing you need to decide when starting to build the drone; There are elements that you need to pay attention to such as size, material, thickness, spacing, style, geometry. Whether it's a Super Lite high-speed racer drone or a regular standard drone, your frame will always play a critical role.
The drone framework exists for the 2 most important reasons:
Protecting drone components
Hold the drone parts together
However, on some racing frames, protecting components plays an important role in aerodynamic design, even though it comes second for peak performance. The focus is on reducing drag and limiting the effect of the arms on the thrust from the propeller.
Most of the Frames you will find in the market are made of carbon fiber. Because it is light, strong and hard. The downside is that it's not that cheap, hard to work with, and conducts electricity, so you have to insulate the wires.
Also, carbon fiber is great at blocking radio frequencies, so it's important to place your antennas carefully. There are other frames made of plastic (Ragee). These parts are made of an impact resistant plastic (HDPE). Their downside is weight and working space. To get the same strength you need more material and for the frame to work you need to find the parts to fit the predefined areas.
